Well, I'm stuck watching it with my daughter and it's not as good as the original. What's with all the Metal sounding songs? Not metal like heavy metal, metal like they did something to the voices to make them sound strange.

Other than that it's pretty good I guess but those certain songs are really annoying.

Anyway, anyone else watching it? Voluntarily or not...

*cough* um, yeah, I might have "walked by" while the family was watching.

Seems a little over produced ... I'm sure it'll be on the tube 24/7 for like a year so I'll have to tell ya after the 100th time I have seen it.

Oh god. I forgot that this was on. Get the men that haven't started to question their masculinity and run for the hills. Pick up shotguns on the way too

:p

OMG, my Uncle sent his kids to our house to watch this. I remember when they were making a huge deal about the first one. Wow. I really dislike my brother and sister watching the Disney Channel. I mean, do kids watch cartoons anymore or have Disney and Nickalodean taken over?

Maybe it is just a fad that will go away, who knows. I believe the movie will end at 10:00 PM.

What little attention I paid to of the first one was pretty horrible. I can't imagine the sequel.

Wikipedia:

As a preventive measure against pirating, Disney Channel significantly reduced the audio quality of each song during the premiere showing of High School Musical 2 on August 17, 2007 by lowering the bitrate. It is unknown whether each song's audio quality will be restored at all during any of the television showings or if it will only be available on the DVD release.

They reduce the quality of the audio on a musical. Because that makes sense...

Exactly what I was thinking. That's just stupid.

Hmm. Conclusion is I disliked the 2nd one. Maybe like 1 song was ok. I loved the first one's soundtrack though. Cheesy? Yeah. I don't know why I had a few friends who were so interested in it. There are even freaking facebook groups that say HS Musical is not just for kids..

It's funny how ATOT will never watch something like this and will make every effort to ridicule it.

disney channel-produced movies I have stayed far away from. Hopefully I can dodge ever having to watch this one, as so far I have been lucky enough to dodge the first one. :)

It's one of those movies that lots of people like but lots are too embarrassed to say that they liked it because they think others will make fun of them even though lots of the others also liked it but are too embarrassed to say that they liked it because they think others will make fun of them even though......

I liked the first one and thought it was a fun movie. alot of the songs were good too.

I didn't really care too much for the second one. It focused too much on Sharpay who was way too over the top this time around. Troy's solo number felt like a bad music video. He was actually singing directly to the camera like he was singing to the audience. They never really did that before and it all looked pre packaged for use as a stand alone video.

Overall I give the first movie 3 stars and the second 1.5 out of 5

eh, every kid I know 5-12 has the first one on DVD so it makes sense that they would preserve that revenue source.
