I only went to mine, because my parent's wanted me to. I personally didn't want to go and waste my time, after all I did have better place to spend a friday night If your parents want you to go then you gotta do it, but If they don't care, I wouldn't go. Its long and boring.

no help here, I went to a reform school where you studied at your own pace and graduated individually...there would be a graduation every week or so.

dont worry bout it.. i thought about skipping mine but didnt in the end. if you really want to fine, but you could always go and hand out with friends/family afterwards since they'll all be there anyways. i mean most of your friends will probably be there so it'd be cool to hang out n stuff.... at least mine turned out pretty cool after all the formalities...

I never went and I don't regret it one bit.

Did I mention I hated high school? :)

I graduated last year, and i was thinking about skipping too. I mean is it really that big of a deal? Now 7 months later, after reading this thread, i realize i would have regret it if i skipped it. Your point of view in life will change, don't miss out of your high school days(including graduation). :)

it's not that it's a huge accomplishment.. it's that you've been through yet another section of your life... just something to celebrate... go out with yoru friends.. party.. do all that good stuff

That actually sounds like a very good way of doing it. I wish I went (go) to a school like that.

I never said I wasn't going to go out w/ my friends afterwards. I can skip the formal ceremony and still party, right?

<< graduation is one thing that i didn't skip, nor did anybody i know skip. go to it, you'll regret it if you dont >>

same here. the ceremony was really boring, but it was quick. i think our entire ceremony was no more than 20 minutes for a graduating class of 198

The ceremonies are pretty boring...go up, get your diploma, sit down...then watch people go up and get their awards for an hour. I don't remember many speeches besides the valedictory one.
