he should have ran the ball back into his own endzone. it wouldn't be a blowout so he wouldn't get suspended and it would have been even more embarrasing to the other team.

I'm sorry, but I don't think coaches should be telling their worst atheltic players (like line backers) to be 330LBS+ to have a better chance to play for a college team. 16-year-olds should not weight 300LBS!!

Have you ever watched football? Please point out to me a LB who is 330 and is playing today. LB's are some of the better athletes on the field. Maybe you mean O-line. Also, the college/pro game is starting to move away from the huge offensive lines and toward a leaner, more mobile player. There is no possible way a weight limit would ever happen.

Conversely
Did anyone happen to see Clemson pummel UNC this weekend? Clemson pulled their 1st string at half, pulled 2nd string in the middle of the third quarter, and had 3rd string, retirees, and cheerleaders in the 4th quarter. The coach did the right thing.

However, Coach Bummer of UNC did not do the right thing. Clearly humiliated, he refused to admit defeat and kept his first string in the game even into the fourth quarter - just so his squad could score a touchdown. Yay, team.

That was stupid. Here we have one team emptying the bench with guys hungry for playing time, especially with it being televised as the ACC game of the week. These kids aren't going to stop, they want to be first string and they going to play their hearts out. Now if UNC did the same, then maybe those other kids could have proved their worth that maybe they are better than the first string. But the coaches and we will never know because of bad head coaching.

I wonder if these people have heard of a called game.

I say it's the ref's fault. This coach should not have to tell the kids to stop trying and neither should the other coach have to throw in the towel. A rule is a rule and the last time I checked, the REF (not the school board) is in charge of enforcement/execution of the rules.

I mean really people, don't make an already over-officialized game get even lamer.

Wow you have no idea what you are talking about do you?

Sorry I've been off the board for a few...

So wait... I'm sorry... what were you saying? I hate when people make comments that explain nothing like that.
I hope you didn't take me literally when I said it was the ref's fault. I meant that it SHOULD be the ref's fault. He obviously didn't have the responsibility/ability to end the game but he should have.
