he should have ran the ball back into his own endzone. it wouldn't be a blowout so he wouldn't get suspended and it would have been even more embarrasing to the other team.

I'm sorry, but I don't think coaches should be telling their worst atheltic players (like line backers) to be 330LBS+ to have a better chance to play for a college team. 16-year-olds should not weight 300LBS!!

I say it's the ref's fault. This coach should not have to tell the kids to stop trying and neither should the other coach have to throw in the towel. A rule is a rule and the last time I checked, the REF (not the school board) is in charge of enforcement/execution of the rules.
I mean really people, don't make an already over-officialized game get even lamer.
