High resolution with BF2?

I recently purchased BF2 and was surprised to find out I can't run at resolutions higher than 1280x1024 on my Dell 2005fpw. Could this be because of my video card (radeon 9700)? I can run the higher resolutions in other applications but not here. Does the game support them?

It's very ram dependent. If you don't have 2gb you probably won't be albe to run it at high settings @12x10. You can probably squeeze by on medium settings @10X8

Change your BF2 short cut so that it forces 1680x1050 (the native resolution of the Dell 2005FPW)

"D:\Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

So what is the max rez for this game? I find it really hard to believe the screen resolution has anything to do with system memory. I thought available resolutions was purely graphics card related. I don't mind having detail on less-than-full settings, I'm concerned with using the wide aspect ratio of the monitor.

1152x864 may be the rez I'm running, I'm at work and can't remember off the top of my head. I do know it was none of the higher rez's.

Doh, the above post came in while I was posting. Any idea why 1680x1050 isn't an option in the graphics settings (or why other resolutions aren't listed)?
