HIGH RESOLUTION LCD MONITOR POST

Myself like others here have built a SLI rig for high end gaming. Maybe others just like you, have been stuck on one thing, trying to figure out that LCD needed to do the task right.

So for those that have a high-end SLI rig, please make a post to tell us what LCD you game with and why.

Also share with us your experiences good, or bad and help others to learn from your first hand experiences, the road the other half of us are trying to take, to find that, "SLI Video LCD Glory", too!

THANKS

Short answer.

2405FPW. The cards can handle the res, the monitor handles the job of keeping up with what the cards can pump, and I've had no detrimental experiences yet.

I can second that, except my X800Pro chokes on FEAR. 🙁

I just switched out my 19" Dell 915N (6-bit Tn) for a Dell 2005FPW (8-bit Super IPS) and what a difference. The 8 bit is much more colorful (IMHO) compared to my dell and playing FarCry all night at 1680x1050 was a blast. I still run everying wide open and 4x8 on the eye candy and it didn't skip a beat.

The extra desktop is really nice, and for me it just seems that things look more normal, maybe it's just the aspect ratio of 16:10 vice 5:4.

2405 as well for me. But there are some new entries which potentially offer superior gaming performance--the Samsung 244T and the Sony SDM-P234

I used to run dual 7800GTX'es with my Dell 2005FPW (1680x1050) with no problems. Currently running a single X1800XT with no issues as well, however the dual GTX'es did offer a significantly smoother frames in FEAR at the same settings.

I have a 2405FPW right next to me, I bought it a few days back for my new PC which I have yet to order. (awaiting RD580)
I got it at a great price of just £540 inc VAT and postage and the full 3 year warranty.

I have one question, I have yet not opened the box up, does it come with a DVI cable or will I have to purchase one seperately?

Comes with.

Im pleased with my Dell 2005fpw (1680 x 1050) although my 5900XT is predictably crap on it, the 2405fpw (1920 x 1200) may require you to upgrade the graphics more than you would like and the panel I have heard isn't as good quality

Samsung 940B, 1280x1024, 7800GT can handle all my games (COD2, etc.) fine at highest settings at native res without ghosting, slowdowns, or anomalies. I have it at 75hz through DVI.
