high res montiors and performance

Hi I wonder if having a higher res monitor means lower performance. Let me make this clear I know that if you are gaming in higher res settings you will have lower performance. I'm asking wether having a high res monitor will have lower performance compared to a lower res monitor while playing a game in exactly same settings (including resolution) or not, due to upscaling etc. If it does is the difference worth considering?

If the resolution is set the same in the game than the higher native resolution monitor will have the same performance as the lower resolution monitor. the performance is based on the resolution that the game is putting out, not what the monitor is capable of displaying. Running non native resolutions will result in worse image quality however.
