I have no idea why people love Sony TVs so much. I mean they are good quality, but there are much better sets out there for the price. I think that Panasonic and JVC definitely make better TVs, especially after you calibrate them correctly. Sonys are nice, but they are not the best, not by a long shot, especially since they are so overpriced.

you have got to be kidding right???

get the 32" TV. A 27 inch TV is WAY to small nowadays. If you get the 27 you'll have a great picture but be forever wishing you got the 32.

<edit> saw all the RCA slamming. Very strange, my proscan still has one of the best tubes around. RCA make very good TVs. Sony = pay way more then what you get.

Another vote for a 32" Toshiba. I am an avid Toshiba fan. I've got toshiba TV, VCR, and DVD player. The damn VCR is 6 years old, never been cleaned, and still plays like new. The TV has one of the best pictures that I've ever seen on a non-flat screen TV. Excellent TV.

I know three people who have owned Sony TV's and have had nothing but problems with the things. I'm not too overly fond of the picture and I find them grossly overpriced. They go bragging that trinitron is god's gift to the TV industry. Here's a hint...it ain't.

As others have said, I could give flying fart about spiff 27" flat screen. Yes they are neat, and yes they do offer a pretty nice picture, but $700 for a 27" TV? Go fsck yourself sony!

I just paid $270 for a very nice 27" Samsung last night. I would have bought a Toshiba, but price was the name of the game and it was another $40 on top of an already stretched budget.

Put away your geekish tendencies and get the big screen. 32" are the perfect size TV if you ask me. They are great when placed in a large room, yet not so ungodly big that they are impossible to bear in a smaller room. Not to mention that a 36" TV is impossible to move by one person. I can pick my 32" up and move it across the room. No can do with a 36 incher.

Get a 32" Toshiba and enjoy it.

you're pretty strong man..i can't pick up my 32" and it's an RCA! it's a decent tv for the money..got it for about $430... i wouldn't trade it and $200 for a wega 27". That's just way overpriced. I'd trade it evenly for a 27" wega though...

I paid $460 for my 32" Toshiba PLUS a 2 year extended warranty at Sears two years ago :)

I won't go into details on how I got it at that price, but needless to say, it was a very long day.

Actually, the 27" that I have is only $550 new. The higher-end models really don't offer anything of value. Besides, I picked mine up used for $400, so it was a hell of a deal.

<< Also RCA = Zenith = Suck. >>

No.

I've seen the Zenitch Inteq Flatron, and it's awesome.
Every bit as good as the Wega's, any day of the week.
I was really surprised.

I'd go for the Wega, but only cause I have one. Only problem is.. I'm so used to not seeing any scanlines on it now, I don't know how I'd cope with a TV with scanlines when I get to college.. :(
