A good rule of thumb is that high-proof liquors generally suck. The companies that make them are shooting for effect, not taste or quality. Buy regular booze and drink a little more of it.

To be honest I've tried a few gins in the past.

How I like my martinis, even though I haven't made one in ages.

Just the regular Publix gin seems as good as about any to me to be honest.

Gin just doesn't seems the same category as a single malt Scotch to me, I guess if I was even to buy any I wouldn't be as picky about it personally.

G&J Greenall's Gin - 93 Points and about $20 for a 1.75L
Citadelle Gin - 96 Points and about $40 for a 1.75L
Boodles Gin - About $35 for a 1.75L

For cheap - Gordon's Gin is my favorite at $15 for 1.75L

Thanks for those. I havnt had gin since I was 15. I just remember thinking it was what I imagined hairspray would have tasted like. 20 years later I am going to give it a chance.

doubt you can get any high strength drinks for $20, but if you do, let us know.

I didn't know they made high proof gin. Devil's Springs is a 160 proof Vodka if you're feeling crazy. Bacardi 151 if you're into rum.

Seagrams is the best ~$20-for-1.75l that I've found so far. Barr Hill is my favorite by far, but at ~$36 for 750ml, it isn't the cheapest thing around.

+1 for Gordon's. I like it more than Bombay personally. Beefeater is a pretty good cheap brand as well.
