high pitched noise?

It seems as though my computer is making a high pitched scraping kind of noise and I cant figure out what it is...first I thought it was the power supply, so i switched it and put another one in...still the same noise only you cant hear it as much. I THINK it has something to to with my processor fan on the heatsink not being mounted right or something but im not sure. One power supply is a little bigger than the other so could that make the sound louder/softer than the other? I ordered another HSF hoping this with fix the problem...just trying to get some input on this...thanx guys

Possibly the hard drive with worn bearings. This can be the result of old age or heat damage. Try unplugging the HD and boot up the system to confirm if this is the problem.

Nah I figured it out...its the fan on my heatsink 🙂...I'm gonna get rid of the CAK38 I have and put in a thermalright(is that how u say it?) SK6
