high pitched noise from laptop

so my laptop is currently giving of an unbearable high pitched scream. I am pretty sure its from the hard drive, is there anyway to verifiy this so i can get it replaced? its killing me slowly

mine is a toshiba. Would this type of thing happen over time? Cause i dont remember this happening when i first had the laptop

dell warranty time it is then. i do think its the hdd though, it goes away when not accessing the hdd i believe.
