High performance laptops to get GPUs in the hands of regular consumers?

With desktop GPUs becoming so expensive could OEMs increasing availability of laptops (with high end dGPU or APU) eventually become our best option?

Or do ASICs (eg, Bitmain for Ethereum) and/or increased supply of GDDR/HBM memory eventually restore the supply of desktop cards?
