High heels: How high is too high for business environment?

A couple of ladies here at work must be wearing ones with 4+ inch heels everyday. I don't know why or how they manage. Not that I have any problems but always heard 2" heels should be the highest for this type of environment.

Oh, sorry no pics. They're nothing to look at either.

If it helps them reach the highest cupboard in the kitchen, I'm fine with that.

I don't think the limit is the #of inches, rather, can the person walk in them all day without wiping out or bitching to me about how his/her feet hurt.

As long as they aren't propositioning men at the water fountain no one is going to say anything.

And even then maybe nothing will say anything.

Yeah, giving high fives isn't really saying anything.

Maybe you should worry less about other people's shoes and more on your job?? Hmmm?

Pfft... 4" is normal for me. I feel, as long as the rest of the outfit looks conservative, nothing wrong with wearing nice shoes, HOWEVER, I am not talking about stripper-esque clear, plastic stilletos.

I always feel the entire outfit a women wears should balance out. If she has a lower cut top, wear nice trousers or a longer skirt. If the skirt is a bit shorter, wear a cleavage covering blouse.
For shoes, if they are a bit... "racy" wear conservative jewerly and not a lot of make up and don't do up your hair.

If they start wearing thigh high boots and threaten you with a riding crop, you should file a complaint. Don't let them push you around dressed like that, unless it's your type of thing.

I don't care unless the heel, regardless of size, looks like a hooker boot. But to be a hooker boot, she'd also have to dress 'inappropriately' above her ankles.
