High frequency noise ?

well, we're gonna need more info. can you take your side off and determine where it's coming from?

it's probably either a fan or a hard drive...try unplugging your fans one at a time (temporarily) and see if it goes away...be careful, though, if you unplug your cpu fan..only do that as a last resort, and if you do so only leave it unplugged for a few seconds...

Its the harddrive. I can shut that down when i'm sleeping. is there a way to shut off or slow down the CPU fan and chipset fan, while sleeping or while the computer is idling, my CPU fan is pretty loud.

For a few second experiment, just stick something sturdy at the middle of the fan to slow and then stop the fan. If the noise in question suddenly decreases...

there was a thread about this a day or two ago. search for it. the consensus was that you COULD take the fan off, but it's not suggested.
