My computer is a little slow booting up, but I've realized a big slowdown occurs when explorer and vsmon, especially vsmon, takes up up to 99% of CPU usage while starting up. This happens for about 30 seconds (not sustained at 99% though, mainly around 70%) UNTIL my Catalyst Drivers get loaded (I can tell from the black flash and the color settings applied).
The only thing I can think of is the Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus "features" in ZoneAlarm. I'm going to try disabling those two features and booting up. EDIT: Well that didn't help much. It still boots up slow. I guess my programs just like to start slowly, and not at the same time. My friend's nearly identical computer has his programs that all start up at the same time. Boot up is finished for him in about 20 seconds.
Can anyone tell me why this might be happening? Thanks.
