We are buying a new project house and planning the kitchen reno.

we are having a hard time deciding on refrigerators. we are planning on a 48 in Dacor range, and other high end stuff. kitchen has space for separate freezer and fridge. Looking not to get too crazy for the price.

currently I am leaning towards 24 or 30 in wide separates made by Frigidaire or Electrolux but they get poor reviews. also on the table are columns with bottom freezers from blomberg or Liebherr.

anyone have experience with these types of purchases? or suggestions on a fridge like this? counter depth only, budget maybe 4kish?

this seems to be more stressful than buying the house!
we are used to buying everything second hand and using whatever we find, but this place ( when done) will be worth quite a bit more than the previous remodels.

You say "Looking not to get too crazy for the price" but you are considering a Liebherr fridge??

Anything with a Liebherr badge is mega bucks. I mean if u don't consider a Liebherr fridge "too crazy" then good for you!

But never met a Liebherr owner that wasn't happy about the purchase. Packed with all kinds of great features, quiet and German engineered. They are the cream of the crop and priced accordingly.

cheaper than the sub zero, viking, etc. Blomberg is also in the running, they are newer to the US market.

the 24 in columns are less than 2k each. The Dacor 48 in double oven range we have a line on is NIB and 1/3 retail.

We've had the Whirlpool Sidekicks for over 10 years and haven't had a bit of problems, if that helps ;)

yes, as that is by far the cheapest option. thanks! I am just trying to make that fit in with the million dollar house we want this place to be. I wish they had a panel option.

So the mom's samsung took in the ass, twice. The 1st time took 2 weeks for the parts.

What ever brand, get the house and appliance protectors. The latter, just plug them into the wall.

That's fast. My son and daughter-in-law have a Samsung dryer under warranty (less than a year old), took 10 days just to get someone out to look at it and the Samsung service rep thought that was quick

That was quick. Compare it to mb rma times. You might think paying upwards of $10 k would make a company have a little better customer service. You would be wrong.

Just avoid the ones from LG, Samsung and those type of brands. Too much complicated stuff that can and will fail since they are made cheap and not made to last. My parents got a new Samsung fridge about a year ago and they had to get it serviced at least 3 times already. These are $500+ repairs once the warranty is out.
