I already ordered the Asus but found the Abit is also tempting. My order is not shipped yet so still can change.
Asus P5B Deluxe and Abit AW9D-MAX. Both has nice feature set. The 975X seem to have higher scores in review (benchmark) but the SB 8R of P965 seems slightly sweeter than the 7R chip.
Both are at very similar price and very close feature. I have an E6300 now...

You made a right purchase. I wouldn't switch to the Abit board. It is true that 975X can be faster than P965 to a certain point (as well as dual-GPU support) but there are many ways to compensate for it with P965. But more than anything I'd trust ASUS more than Abit when it comes to Intel boards.

what about nVidia chipset?
The Asus P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP is just $20 more than the P5B Deluxe now (at the egg). I guess the price is coming down to make way for nVidia 680i.
Too many choices :)

The NV 590 i.... and Overclocking is an Oxymoron .... Wait and See if 680 i is better.

For what you will pay for the ABIT Max.... You can Buy a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe ...975x

Yeah, which takes the question back to 975X vs P965 (P5W Deluxe vs P5B Deluxe)

Assuming you're looking to overclock, P5W-DH isn't a good matey for an E6300. Max FSB 420~440 means you'll top out around 3.0GHz, which is fall short of the E6300's potential. Don't get me wrong. E6300 @3.0GHz is helluva fast. And as a bonus, your rig will be one cool-running board. But P965 will take the E6300 much further than 975X. Simply, you need high FSBs to compensate for your CPU's low multi. If you had a higher multi, say E6600, then I'd recommend P5W-DH.

P5B Deluxe ftw.

I have argued in favor of it so many times on these forums i've gotten tired of explaing why in every post.

Just do a search for my name, & i bet one of the top 10 results will have me explaining why...

what he said except that I would go for anAW9D over a P5WH.

However, seeing as nVidia 6 series launches today it might be worth waiting a week or so.
