My Dash is nearing the end of it's lifespan. The battery life is dwindling, and I'm starting to get the itch for something new. I know a lot about the various WM phones on the market, but I'm considering other options as well. I've heard a lot of rumblings about the Nokia phones - N95 and N81 I think? What can you guys tell me about these? I've been a huge Nokia fan for a long time, but I've been out of the loop for a couple of years because of my forays into WM (SDA and Dash).

Thanks

I know that some of their higher models are hit or miss, but there are a couple that are supposed to be phenomenal. They are also a bit pricey, but are a great alternative to BB and WM phones. Nokia also makes great phones. I'd check some of the review sites like mobileburn.com and gsmarena.com there is also a really good Russian phone site but I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it gives really in depth reviews of phones. Either way the top end Nokia phones are worth looking into if you want an alternative to the usual.

Well the N95 is an excellent phone. But for the N81, I'm not so sure its "High-end". I'd say its in the middle. The N82 is the Highend of the N8x series. I can tell you that the N95 8GB Edition (the black one with the bigger screen) is an amazing phone. But like onlyCopunk, I agree, it is expensive.

N82 is a stunning phone, I'd pick one over the N95. (although they are both about the best S60 phones out)

It depends on what you want it for.

The N81 8GB, N82, N95 and even E90 if you need a keyboard and big screen.

And the N96 is due soon so lots of choice.

I don't know much about their newer phones but my parents and I had the Nokia 6019i for 3 years, they were antiques compared to the phones now but they were solid. And we all got 3 to 4 bars in northern maine, like in the middle of the woods. Battery life was excellent too, if Nokia makes phones the way they used to than they're going to be good.

I haven't seen many of the new ones, I traded my nokia for a Samsung r610 slider a day ago and it's a huge change for me.

WM phones are bad, I have one so I'm not just being a hater. Actually the phone is great but the OS is god awful. Nokia = Symbian which is better than WM. All Nokia's will have Symbian so you can't go wrong. Ericsson has some nice higher end phones too. I want a Nokia N82. I think this summer I'll order an N82 and get the iPhone 32 gig 3G that comes out July. Then I have the 2 freshest phones out :) I use to really hate Nokia phones, but the last few I've used (never owned one) I liked, and the fact they're anti WM is a hugw thumbs up in my book. I wish somebody would do something to get some Symbian phones in the US. Paying full retail, or even higher to get a phone imported sucks :(

Why get both?

Get the N82 and an Ipod touch, you could use bluetooth to use the N82's data connection on the touch then.

I'd like to have internet when I'm out and about. I wouldn't want either as a daily phone but to switch back and forth would be cool. Hell I'd still keep my w810i it's a great every day phone with awesome battery life. I also like to needlessly waste money and what better way than with 2 phones that are both overpriced to begin with :) Bluetooth is good and touch lacks it so I don't like that, hopefully the 3G iPhone will have A2DP.

wow I ran a converter that's A LOT. I like to waste money but that's even more than I like to waste haha. For the price of one of those I can get 3-4 way overpriced other phones and have a different overpriced phone for every day of the week.

I need to find info and see why that sucker is so expensive.
