Not sure if WD Blue is best bet for large storage drive?
Not sure if memory is good?
Not sure if PS is good?

I'm a little worried about getting a case where I can't install a cdrom drive as well.

Man, this place is quiet! When I built my last one, there was so much help! Anyways, maybe this helps someone.
I changed the memory to Corsair since the G.Skill was not on the QVL list.

And what are you planning on doing with this system?

Gaming and video editing
Well, that puts you in a difficult place. Intel is king for gaming (AMD is like a few % behind, very close), but in most multithread apps, meaning most video editing apps, AMD is king.

So that could be why you don't get as much feedback. Are you open to whats best ? With those NVME drives, you can get a big boost in speed going with AMD x570 boards. Of course then you need an AMD CPU. I would says the 3900x would fit your budget. Other than the motherboard and CPU, the rest looks pretty good. But also change the NVME drives to PCIE4 drives, like the corsair MP600 series.

Thanks! I'm off to investigate your suggestions! Here's my latest. Cost keeps growing unfortunately, but I only build one every 10 years, so it's ok. Just got a steal on a gaming mouse, lol. Saving $20+ bucks! Woo Hoo!

That looks like a very solid build. FWIW, your chosen video card just dropped to $1299.99 after rebate so if you are sure about the build but haven't yet pulled the trigger on it now might be the time.

Thanks! Looks like the rebate is until 12/31. The cooler is on sale today and has a rebate until 12/31 also, so I'll probably pick that up today.

Storage: Seagate BarraCuda Pro 14 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($531.99 @ SuperBiiz)
is there really any reason to purchase such a expensive hd? wd red is not half the price?
yea 200$.. 2080ti ive seen for 1100 at most. but worried about saving 20$ on a mouse? maybe its a prank!

I think it is more the excitement of actually getting to build it than it is the $20 on the mouse. Could he build it cheaper? Sure, but it is his money and not ours.

I'm a little worried about getting a case where I can't install a cdrom drive as well.

I wouldn't worry about an optical drive - you can always add an external if you need it (which, you probably won't given that cheap USB 3.1+ flash drives now have far more capacity than even extended capacity Blu ray discs do, and Blu ray isn't a suitable long term storage medium. M-Disc is, but the format looks pretty much dead since the company that invented it when out of business back in 2016).

Not a prank! This is external. I want internal. Can I shuck that one?
Is it 5400? Any advice to save money, even $20 is appreciated, but I only build a PC once every 10 years, so I try to get the best of the best.
Thankfully I can afford to do so. Happy Holidays mate!

Why not build a Cascade Lake-X system then?

If you only build a PC once every 10 years, and use the PC for gaming and video editing, that's the way to go if you want the "best of the best" with money (or $/performance) being no object. You might even be able to find a $20 - $30 combo discount at places like Newegg on a CPU like the i9-10920X and a X299 motherboard.

OK? Odd answer to the question I asked before you decided to respond to this thread.

Are we going to get updates every time you order a component?

You don't seem to address anyone who suggests other possible components that would work for you. Is this really a "I need some help on my build" or is it simply a brag thread for people to see?

Personally this really looks like a brag thread to me. My current rig cost ~$3600 back in June 2013 when I built it. However that also included the Dell U2014 30" display and overall cost was due to the Crucial M500 1TB SSDs.

@motojeff You will more get more and better replies if you answer @UsandThem question. And you are coming across as wanting to build a bragging rig then anything serious as well.

Yes I can understand wanting to build a high end system for longevity, but even so, I wouldn't spend anymore then what is needed.
