I recently watched The Dark Knight and The Animatric in hidef and it was jaw droppingly amazing. And that was just on a 32" screen, I can't wait to move up to a projector.

So what anime have you watched in hidef?

I'm currently looking to get Code Geass in hidef but in english dub.

Hmm... I have a copy of GiTS 2 but it's the annoying one that has closed captioning instead of subtitles. Have they FINALLY released a proper version?

these days I'd rather watch the animation and action on screen than keeping up with the subs. in the past I did'nt mind so much but with hidef I prefer to actually hear my movies than read them

I watched The Animatrix from the Matrix Blu-ray box set and I have to say I was quite impressed; looked great in HD!

I noticed most everything aired now is being encoded at 1280x720, 1440x900 and 1920x1200 sometimes, if that fits your description of HD anime.
Some standouts like Clannad AS get at multiple stations, the non-HD one preceding the HD version. So the 960x720 version appears first, trailed by the 1280x720 one.

One of the first animated shows I'd ever seen in HD was The Life and Times of Tim on HBO. Fucking hilarious and yes, anything animated and in an HD resolution looks amazingly sharp.

I hear the next season of Venture Bros is going to air in HD as well. I can't wait!

Watching Tengen toppa Gurenn Langann in HD is great. HD works fast with incredibly fast action scenes, something TTGL excels at.

Other Examples, Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Opening, Gundam 00, Casshern Sins

Ah, I see. Well it appears that there will be an official release of it tomorrow on Blu-Ray and a re-release on DVD.

It looked really good because it was on a small scree. Not that it will look bad, per se, but the larger the screen, the somewhat less the quality.

At least, you'll notice more issues with the transfer. Animation in general, though, tends to shine with HD.

I watched TDK on my 42" 720 plasma, and wasn't really bothered by a lot of the quality issues that the transfer is known for. Then I watched it on my brother's 52" 1080p LCD. ...it was terrible.
The majority of people that point out the myriad flaws in that transfer have 100"+ projected setups.
