High Cpu Usage

Hello,

Recently I went to task manager while playing bf3 and noticed a cpu usage reaching 36-50%. I am not sure whether or not this is normal, but similar case happened when i was using a video editing program: Handbrake. Cpu usage was 100% LOL. My specs: 2600K oced to 4.1Ghz EVGA GTX 570. I did run prime 95 for 10 hours after overclocking and the test was successfully passed. At this point i need an advice.

Thanks,

SOL

CO: Everything is perfectly perfect with your CPU

CPU usage with bf3 is very normal with your CPU, video editing programs use 100% or near 100% of CPU power if they are good, so it's normal as well. Just enjoy your fine specimen of a processor, sir.

I know BF3 puts my i3 2100 to work with nearly a 90% load at times and sometimes it holds back my performance .

The i7 2600k and BF3 are the best thing ever all that game needs is a 2500k or a highly oced x6 to really shine and most will consider the i7 basically overkill for gaming.

I checked the what cpu usage others i7 users get and most of them are about 30-40%. I maybe wrong on it, but 40% on a game is a bit too much?

It also depends on what and how many backgrounds programs are running, how many viruses is in your computer, how much overclocking was done, game settings, drivers, BIOS version, type of motherboard, RAM frequency etc etc. So it's perfectly normal.

BF3 multiplayer is quite possibly the most demanding game ever created.

You're ok...just be happy you have the CPU to play it. I'm not sure what you've been reading, but there's not a CPU in existence that would be at under 40% load in BF3.

That is quite peculiar that when you use programs, your CPU usage goes up. Maybe you have a virus or need to reformat your drive.
