high contrast video from 6800

Hello,

I bought a Leadtek 6800 GT. Everything runs fine except videos. When I play any video with DirectX (OpenGL plays fine) through players like MPlayer or Widows Media Player, the video plays with the contrast turned all the way up. I go to the driver controller and nothing changes the contrast. What could be wrong?
 
Been searching for the answer for over a week. Finally post it, and of course immediately find it.

It's a settings bug in the 77.72 driver.
go to the nvidia control panel
color correction
color profile: advanced mode
apply color changes to: all
hit apply
