Know whats disturbing?
Henry Kissinger is still alive
(Didn't realize that national interest is from the Nixon center and Kissinger is honorary head moose)

Add me to the camp that thinks China has a long road before it can do anything more than symbolic crap.
I think China has at least a decade before they could even consider mounting an operation against Taiwan .

BRICS Conglomerate all have a high chance of starting wars.

Communism died, and with it Democratic Fascism rose. Even the United States fell into the Democratic Fascism hole.

Yeah, populism is definitely warlike. The people always reward displays of warlike chest pounding because the people have limited information and education. I've definitely soured on democracy since then election of Trump.

There's no point in China flattening Taiwan in order to take it.

Taiwan pours money into China. The relationship is far more complex than the cartoon version frozen in 1949.

And predictably you haven't bothered reading any linked articles.

If there's one thing the chinese leadership is good at it's making money, and screwing up the conducive environment they've carefully curated in exchange for fuckall is just about the last thing on their minds.

It's pretty obvious people who can't see this simple underlying reality have zero understanding of the situation.

I'm sorry to say this but National Interest has been pushing fear propaganda for a while now. They use many scare tactics, clickbait titles, and just general fear pushing.

I'm not totally disqualifying this article but we should take that into account.

It seems that nationalism in a china has really gone up these past few years. If the alternative for the Chinese ruling class is loss of power, they will attack a Taiwan if only to "wag the dog"

Just to extend on my previous post. The wars that might or might not pop-up from BRICS is not 1v1, but 1vMany.

China => Taiwan, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.
South Africa => A bunch of neighbors, Southwest Africa, and Central Africa.
India => Pakistan, UAE, Oman, Yemen, Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzanian, etc.
Russia (3-front) => Finland/Sweden/Norway, Germany<->Croatia(A line), Turkey<->Tajikistan(A line)
Brazil => United South/Central America (Basically a huge massive grab)
Iran/North Korea/etc plan to hop on as coalition help. The Coalition/Conglomerate would have shared troop arrangements for a massive rushblitz on all targets at the same time.

China makes a lot of money off the computer industry and it is probably with the help of Taiwan that all this has played out. So USA and many other countries have an interest in helping Taiwan if for no other reason than to protect the computer industry. This is one reason why the USA needs to set up facilities in the USA to make motherboards and other parts to protect its own interest even if we have to offer them special consideration to bring in foreign workers to set it up.

More fear mongering nonsense. Modern war is all about money and trade. We don't shoot missiles at Russia, but we try things like sanctions and shutting down financial avenues. China can do a lot of damage without firing a shot.
Remember that Japan didn't attack America until we stopped selling oil to them. Trade war comes before shooting war. As long as trade ships are going back and forth, there's nothing to worry about.

The article points to fundamental differences between the populations which may only be resolved by war. Most of the Taiwanese see themselves as Taiwanese, while most Chinese cannot accept an independent Taiwan because of Chinese Nationalism. This could quickly devolve into a trade war and then a shooting war.

Taiwan has a very substantial ethnically han chinese population not two generations removed from the mainland. One-china is literally part of their constitution.

Ponder why you have such confidence in dumbshit proclamations sans basic factual understanding of the matter. That you're on the same side of any issue as Svnla should provide pause enough.

Hey dumbass, did you read post #6? Learn to read before you shame and humiliate yourself in public again as a clueless moron.

Desura is right (Most of the Taiwanese see themselves as Taiwanese) - https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...wants-one-china-but-which-china-does-it-want/

Troll harder, bitch.

It is mostly neo-fuedal politics.

China government is the master of all Chinese. Taiwan sovereign government doesn't exist. If you say otherwise *squint* u dun f'ed up.

The issue is that the one-china policy is a nitroglycerin waiting to go off. There is no-exception to any country allowing Republic of China the authority to be exactly sovereign.
