High case temps

I have a sonataII with a pentiumD 820

The processor temps fall nearly 8 degrees when i remove the side off the case.

I have removed the ducht and taped up the rear vent and converted one of the 5 1/4 slots into an intake.

Any advice?

Idle temps: (case open) 42, (case closed) 46

load temps: (case open) 59, (case closed) 68

Is that normal for there to be that much of a difference in temps?

Is it only the cpu thats hot or is your graphics card hot as well?

Graphics card gets a little warmer, around 3 degrees
