High-back leather chairs

So I need to replace my cheapo high-back $99 leather executive chair that only lasted a little over a year and now it doesn't do height adjust, tilt adjust and a big tear on the seat bottom. I will primarily use this in the home office when I'm on the computer.

I want to get a new one after the christmas holiday shopping frenzy and went to the stores and actually sat in so many of them but can't decide between these three. It would be great if any owners can give feedback especially on longevity/durability and of course comfort after months/years of use. I will average about 3 hours a day on it.

Office Max Broyhill Leather Executive for $250.

Staples Sealy Posturepedic Geneva for $180.

Office Depot Taladega High-back for $330.

I'd get the one that's the most comfortable?
Yeah those cheap chairs tear up REALLY easily. I got a $40 office max "manager's leather chair". The leather got torn up in 3 months.

How'd yours tear up? Animals?

mine lost the cushion/thickness at the seat bottom and the frame or some kind of hard wire skeleton was already close to the surface and it finally punctured through the leather.

But the problem is that all 3 are very comfortable. I wonder which one will hold up after 3 to 4 hours a day, and at least 2 years worth of sitting down on it.

Just by sitting on it. Your butt rubbing against it from sitting on it, and the weight pressed against it wears it out over time.

i had a nice $300 leather one, but it tore after a while because i do wear jeans and such. id go for that taladega model for comfort, or maybe a used but still warrantied aeron if you can

I have a chair from office depot that looks identical to the except for the large cushion at the top and front of the seat, and its pretty comfortable and seems to be of a solid build. I paid about 200 for 220 for it

My 35 buck cheapie is holding up just fine after 5 years.

pic of the seat cushions?
cloth or leather? cloth is much more durable than leather in this regard.

None. Aeron FTW.

Pellicle mesh > leather

chair back ending at shoulders > high back chairs

And the most importantly, durability - Aerons many years later are still just as good as the 1st day you sit on them.
