Anyone know what this file or does? It is a registered Miscrosoft file:

Those are the properties. Can I disable it? Anything to do with the SB Live! ?

hidserv.exe Stands for Human Interface Device Service. Deals with keyboards, mice, etc. connected through the USB bus.
