this lets you hide programs and hide itself. It comes with source, so I was wondering if someone here could modify it to hide all seti* and fah windows and itself upon starting.
A number of S@H add-ons allow for running the client hidden. SetiLog is one of those, it also allows for renaming of the client and logs results of all work units processed.
You can launch these on startup from the StartUp folder or the registry.
SETILog will let you hide the SETI CLI, but SETI Driver still sticks itself in the systray, so this program could be useful for people running SETI Driver or SETIQ. 🙂
all the seti programs show themselves somewhere (like the system tray). this one, it turns out, does hide itself. The only issue remaining is to have it hide the client and itself right away.

Not totally true. By default the GUI client will run in the systray and the CL client will run in a DOS window. However, if you use SetiLog to hide the CL client the only way you will see it is to ctrl-alt-del and look for the program running.
IMPORTANT! -- If you're hiding the CL client make sure you go to \Windows\System\conagent.exe then right click it and go to Properties | Misc | and uncheck Warn if still active. That will prevent the annoying warning message when you try to shut down without killing SetiLog and Seti first. 🙂 <--Props to Assimilator1 for teaching me that trick! 🙂
