hiding NT shares

I asked this over in Networking but I thought I'd ask here too. I want to hide the shares for my NT4 server (sp6a) from users who do not have access to that particular folder without hiding it for the users who do have access to that folder. I know the $ before hides it for everybody. That is not what I'm looking for. Any suggestions? So far, it appears that this can not be done. Thanks a bunch.
