hiding my IP from a game

hiya!

I'd like to know if there's a way to be able to hide my IP from the game servers of a game that I'm playing. Or if bare minimum, make it look like something else.
I want to be able to play with more than one account at the same time, but they have a reputation for banning accounts of people that have more than one account at one address.

I've been looking into using a public anonymous proxy but I'm not certain how it works or if it only works for http. When I try them out and access a ip checker it says that my IP is different, but that might just be for http. I want to know if there is a way to check that my IP is truly different as perceived on all ports, or is that even important? I'm not exactly too savvy with the net and this networking thing, but any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.

edit: forgot to note, I'd like to know if it's possible to do it behind a router, or behind a server running internet connection sharing. We have a bunch of shared comps here and it would be odd if only one of us could play at any one given time.

Valid question, but nah, more along the lines that my gf, my younger brother and I all want to play at the same time, but the maker of the game as a nasty habit of banning people for weird things. i.e.: more than one person at one IP

It's a lot more fun when we're in speaking distance than having to bother typing all the time.

Just to give an indication as to some of the company's policies, I've had in game acquaintances that have been banned for having paid for more than one account using one credit card, even though the accounts being paid for were for active guild mates at different IP's.
Some of the odder bannings are for saying "yomama". That's a bannable offense too.

The game itself really is fun, just that the people that run it are on the quirky if not crazy end. I'd love to name the game and the people that make it, but for all the weirdness that's been going on ingame they might run a search for themselves and find some obscure link back to me 😵

Sorry for the crypticness, but any help would really be appreciated.

well your best bet is to find any proxy that you cna route your traffic through. The problem with this is, most of the free ones are only set up for HTTP and FTP and what not. Now as if finding a proxy to do what you want is not hard enough, your still going to have the problem of latency. Instead of you packets going like so

You ---> Game server ---->Back to you

they will now do

You---> Proxy ---->gameserver ---> back to proxy ---> Back to you

so you will have a far far greater chance of lagging in your games. Your best bet might just be to send them an email and explain what you wish todo an ask for the correct way to go about it. Just remember to be very nice, you do have a valid reason for wanting to do this, so I would think there is a valid answer.

The only way to hide your IP from the gameserver is to not connect to it.
