hide windows taskbar when a specific application runs?

Mostly I like having the windows taskbar around, but when I'm working in one program it's distracting and makes it easier for me to procrastinate.

Is there a way to (automatically) minimize/hide the bottom taskbar for one specific application and then unhide it when I quit? (Obviously I could manually do it, but it would be nice to automate it.) Or is there a way to force one app to be always on top, even over the taskbar?
