An Apple AirPort Extreme should do the job nicely. It's small(not as small as the Express, but the express isn't ideal due to a lack of a LAN-side ethernet port), has no external antenna, and has a pretty good range. Buy one(second hand would likely be the best, new ones are expensive) and a WiFi card for your computer, then hide the AirPort inside a box near your cable/DSL modem, run a cable in to the AirPort and another cable from the AirPort to your family PC, and you should be set.

Of course, you didn't hear this from me... 😛
