Hi,

i don't see an hibernation button when i press the "turn off computer" button, all i see is standby.

I have go to control panel > hibernation and enable it.

Is it the only way to hibernate the system with Task Manager?

and also, is there difference btwn them?

Hibernation saves all data in RAM to the hard disk and then turns the machine off. Standby keeps the RAM powered but puts the machine into a low power mode.

press start -> turn off computer, you'll see Standby, Turn Off and Restart. Press shift and stanby will change to hibernate, it's retarded, should be straigh out in the open.

It basically saves the content of the RAM to the Hard Drive before shutting Off.

I.e. If your computer has 512MB it would save a file that is a little more than 512MB to the Hard Drive.
