Hibernation and network problems

I use hibernation with my winXP machine to make it quicker to get into windows, but I find this can mess up my network connection a little. I can fix this by doing an IP release and renew, but I would rather not have to do this manually. I have written a simple batch file to do it, but can you get windows to run programs when it comes out of hibernation?

Thanks

Simon

Do you have Antivirus software running when entering Hiberate?

Another item to try is to remove the Monitor from Device Manager
and reboot, letting WinXP redetect it or install it manually.

Sorry? I dont understand your point? The only problem is that I want to know how to get windows XP to run a program when it recovers from hibernation.

What happens a lot with WinXP when it goes into a S3 state (Standby/Hibernation)
is DLL's that are loaded when it writes to disk steal CPU cycles and conflicts occur
with other DLL's (network, modem, etc.) especially when unloading from a hibernate state.

Also, if you haven't done so already, check your motherboard mfg for a BIOS update
to fix the RESUME from S3 state (common occurance these days).
