Hibernating in XP

I can't get my comp. to hibernate correctly in WinXP Pro. I select Start | Turn Off Computer | Hibernate and then when I try to start the computer it hangs after loading from the hard drive. Any suggestions?
 
First, make sure you have all the latest drivers for your hardware. Often crashing/hanging on return from Hibernate/Suspend is caused by a driver which can't handle it. I couldn't suspend my machine until Creative finally updated drivers (couldn't do it for about 6 months).
