Hibernate not available?

Synomenon

I recently zero-filled my laptop's hard drive and installed a retail version of WinXP Pro. (to get rid of all the junk that came with the laptop). My laptop has a NVIDIA NForce 430 chipset and I downloaded the latest NForce drivers for it from NVIDIA's site instead of the ones from my laptop manufacturer's site.

One thin I notice now is that the Hibernate tab in Power Options in Control Panel is no longer there. Does this have to do with using the NForce drivers from NVIDIA instead of the ones from my laptop manufacturer's site?

I've never heard of the tab going AWOL and it's hard to believe there could be incompatabilities such that a chipset manufacturer would purposely disable it but hey there is one way to be sure if the fault lies with those drivers and that's to install the others.
