I have a laptop witn win 2k...instead of shutting it down, I place it on hibernate. However, if I do this and disconnect the power supply and leave it like this for 1 day, when I go back to turn it on, the battery is TOTALLY discharged !! Is this normal?? In other words, I thought that hibernate writes the memory to the disk and basically draws NO power from the battery.

Is this true or not? Do I have a bad battery/laptop or should I be using 'shut down' when I expect to have the laptop off for more than 24 hrs and disconnected from the power supply?

Thanks,
BJ

i would say so,, the laptop can't go very long on that battery, when it is hibernate, it is still using lots of power.. i would shut it down, and not put it into hibernate.. i would just kill the power and that wasy you wont have to worrry... good luck
