So the wife and I went to a habachi grill for some sushi and other good stuff. The chef who cooked for us had a black hat on. It was a Tuesday night and one of the patrons told us the hat color indicates skill level : black being 'newbie' and red being 'leet' with several colors in between. Is this typical of all Japanese grills? If so, what other colors are there for skill level?
