Hi-Val or IO Magic CD-RW....any good?

Both of these are on sale at Circut City and a friend of mine asked me if they are any good. Dunno but I thought some one here might be able to give me some insight. Thanks
 
they dont actually make their own drives, so you will probably get another brand, like a goldstar, or sanyo, or panasonic. I bought a 6x IOmagic DVD, and inside was oddly an 8x toshiba dvd
 
Since Hi-Val is out of business (went into bankruptcy earlier this year), you may want to take the IO Magic because you have no chance of warranty service with the Hi-Val. Like Hans said, neither of them are manufacturers.
