I went down to Office Max today to pick up the Cendyne 16x Burner advertised on the OM website. When I got there, they told me it was an online special only, but I could order it online, and pick it up in the store. Bummed out, I made my way to the exit, but not before stopping to check out the clearance rack. Well, to my suprise, there was a Hi-Val 16x40x DVD drive there for $55. I asked the manager if it had been returned, and he said no, that it had been discontinued. I took it to the register, and it came up as $120, but then there was some rebate in the computer, and it showed up as $55. Curious, I went to the store shelf with all the DVD drives, and looked if there were any left there. There were still about 3 left, so I took one up to the register. It also came up as $55. So this must be a store wide thing. I am not sure how many are left on the mainland (I live in Hawaii) but I figured that you all might want to give it a try. Good luck.
