How intense is the 3D rendering that you do? What card are you using to do the work that you do now?

I'm not familar with non-gaming cards, but I believe the Quadro and FireGL lines are more geared towards that. The lower end cards are centainly in the average price range. Like I said, I'm not familiar with these cards, so they may or may not be what you need.

On the other hand, something like a 1950Pro, 1650Pro, 7900GS, 7950GT, or even 7600GT will work. They range from $150-300ish, and should hold you over for at least a year or two.

Well I am using an old Ati Mobile Radeon 9200, But find it hard to do more complex rendering, thats why I am upgrading to Desktop. Fire GL seems to be the best option, but very expensive and the one that do provide dual monitor support are really out of my budget.
However I was looking at Apple Website, in particular the Mac Pro they mention the ATI Radeon X1900 XT for more 3D application, over the Nvidia...The Ati also offers HD support avivo, for better viewing experience? Is it marketing or..?
Is there a difference between the ATI Radeon X1900 XT and the 3D Connect ATI Radeon X1900 XT ?

Cheers
