Definatly download the second (larger) video, as the first one is only the title screen. And I would get started now b/c the dl takes foreeeeeverrrrr.

Looks pretty decent to me, although still not nearly enough to convince me I need a Xbox360 at launch.

They did a fantastic job of utilizing the power they had in DOA3. It's even more noticeable when you compare it to this higher res, higher poly, larger textured, [etc.] sequel. But since when are fighting games like this about the graphics? Sure, immersive story-telling does well with detailed graphics, but round-based fighting games live and die by gameplay.

The hi-res trailer I downloaded (likely same one) sure did look great, but struck me as kind of tone-def in a way. Some sets, new chars and costumes felt flat or forced. (Speaking of flat, red-headed chick still has that 2d spin-and-slim effect for her teleport move? C'mon) Sort of like the devs were "trying out new toys" for the 360, instead of coming up with the complete game package. Think we'll have to wait for a future DOA past this one to see everything come together on 360, not that this won't be impressive and enjoyable.

But since when are fighting games like this about the graphics? Sure, immersive story-telling does well with detailed graphics, but round-based fighting games live and die by gameplay.

I'd argue that it was the graphics that got many into playing DOA in the first place, and from there the gameplay/experience could be enjoyed (or not, as the case may be). With all the fighting games that have been out there, the value of getting your foot in the door with that initial purchase can't be overestimated.

PseudoKnight hit the nail...maybe pretty and fun to watch~ but overall the game doesn't hold my attnetion for longer than 10 or so minutes Hopefully they'll try to revamp the engine if possible.

But as i watch the trailer again...I guess its okay. It isn't as big of a leap as I would have expected, but its nicer for sure. The only thing that stands out like crazy is the lighting. Then again this is all first gen titles so I'm sure others will look much better
