Hi!

Just installed a Voodoo3 3000 PCI on a VH6 mainboard. Everything works fine with standard PCI driver, but after installing 3dfx drivers nothing works. The Computer boots up alright, but after the Windows start screen the only thing I get is a blank screen! :(
I have tried different bios settingd according to Voodoo manual. Can't get it to work! Can anybody help????

What card did you have before did you uninstall those drivers first, also have you tried it in a different PCI slot.

Hi Mem, Thanks for your interest, I am getting fed up with this...
The problem seems to be rather more complicated since, there was no other graphic card installed before and I have also tried different PCI slots. Is my Voodoo defect by any Chance????

It`s possible, if you purchased your card local exchange it for a new one, that way you can rule out if it`s a defective card.Another thing try disabling everything in your startup menu,I had a software problem that would not let me install my Logitec drivers for my mouse ,it would lockup.

Start your system in safe mode. Go to the device manager under control panel - system icon. Remove any monitors that you have in your device manager. Reboot system - you should be fine after this.

I did that, but it only works sometimes and only until I reboot, then the whole prob starts all over again! Desperation again!!! :( I 'll check Abit for a motherboard update now since 3dfx on their webpage puts the blame on them (acc. to FAQs).

We will see!

If anybody has more suggestions they are very much welcome!

You may be overdriving the capabilities of the monitor with the setup - that is the only way that I am aware of such a thing happening with your symptoms. What monitor are you using and specifying? Resolution? Display mode? I still believe that this is the issue at hand. Try default PnP monitor when you do this - if it is not already the case.

Hi guys,

Got it sorted! A combination of a more up-to-date driver (1.5 instead of 1.4) and installing the monitor after setting up the Voodoo helped! Thanks for your help!
