Hi. I'm Spikesoldier, and I have a gambling problem.

Can anyone give me any tips or helpers so that they can help me quit? Losing is depressing me and I am starting to lose my discipline and making high wagers that I cannot afford.

I haven't gotten to the point where I am asking to borrow money, but its coming close because I am broke now.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, ATOT.

edit: this is certainly not a parody thread. in the course of two weeks i have lost over 3,000.00.

I got a gambling problem too. Perhaps your area has a local gamblers anonymous.

From your profile, I see you are in Texas, perhaps these numbers will help you.
Texas Problem Gambling Hotline - 1-800-742-0443
Austin Gamblers Anonymous (GA) - 512-860-2958

The odds of you quitting are 3:8

Seriously, google this and you will find some support for the problem. I live in Vegas and see this all the time.

Wow that changes everything. I'm not sure by law they have to have a gambling addiction hotline that you can call for help, like US casinos.

But on a unrelated note, I heard casinos in Korea have more table games than slot machines/video machines, unlike US casinos, where the whole casino is basically slots and video machines. True?

Bet 10,000 on Virginia Tech +17.5 this weekend and that will solve all of your problems.

then you can quick and be happy that you got out while you were ahead.

Unit for unit, the slots have to outnumber the table games by a huge margin. Theres gotta be 2000 slot machines for every 100 tables.

Now I just read that Korean casinos are closer to a 3:2 ratio on slots/tables, unlike US casinos, most of them go for a 18:1 ratio.

Are you talking about chuck-a-luck?

"This game is so simple yet the odds are so deceiving. An operator has the odds in his favour and will consistently make money. With three dice the odds of any number coming up are 50 - 50 which pays (correctly) even money. The trick is in doubles and triples which are what the operator wants as much as the suckers who play. Work out how much you would win and lose if you bet an equal amount on every number and a double or triple came up. A double would occur 90 out of 216 (6 x 6 x 6) rolls and a triple would occur 6. The overall house edge is 7.8703%."

Edited to emphasize the "sucker" part.
