Yes, shocking as it may seem to those of you graduating HS in 2004 ( :Q ) I purchased the new Marilyn Manson CD, The Golden Age Of Grotesque for myself.

And I'm over 30 years old.

*youngins' scratch heads and go "WTF?"*

I don't own any of the previous CDs, but whenever he comes on the radio, I crank it up. I have a very diverse range of musical tastes, but suffice to say that 75% of my listening is "Heavy Metal." <--terminology shows my age.

Usually ranges from 80's Hair Metal to Celtic Frost, Overkill, Motorhead, Puddle of Mud, Stabbing Westward, etc.

MM is not really classifiable...it's not Techno Metal...not Death Metal...not Goth...it's MM...he has his own Genre, IMO.

mOBSCENE is just one f*ckin' heavy tune! It's just drums on the brain...head starts bangin' right off the bat.:D

The New Sh1t is another really good tune...there are 15 tracks on that CD...the first one doesn't really count...more of an intro. That leaves 14.

I'd say 5 really rock and the other 9 are pretty good.

I'm impressed.

Heh, I work w/a lot of "Generation X and Yers." Some seem to think that "older folks" aren't rockers.

I freak people out sometimes b/c I look like a cop (short hair, clean cut, no smile) and I'm always blasting "The Devil Music."

I guess they expect I listen to Lawrence Welk or something. :D I do like Big Band though...from the 40's-50's. Good stuff too.

Disposable Teens rocks. Granted, it's one of the "airplay" tunes, but that CD is next on my list to purchase.

So what if you're over 30 and purchased Marilyn Manson's new CD for yourself, Marilyn is over 30 himself.

Marilyn Manson's Birthdate: January 5, 1969

"Define irony" seems to be in every response to every thread you post in, so I thought I'd educate you, since you keep asking everyone to define it for you.

How you make a connection b/t Harry Potter children's books and Marilyn Manson is beyond comprehension.

OH, I know Manson is over 30. The majority of his fanbase however is definitely 25-and-under.

No the Irony is MichaelD is a gay basher (check the Elton John thread) but he supports them by buying their music. Way to go hypocrite!!!

You're only helping them buy their lube and crazy "gay" costumes MichaelD!!!

EDIT: Sorry to burst everyones bubble, but Mansons new albums are worthless. They are overproduced gimicy albums for kids with no musical value. The only 2 good albums he made were the first 2. The 1st album (Portrat of an American Family) is by far their best work. Their music has gone totally down hill after they kicked Daisy out of the band. All they started caring about was image and the music suffers so bad its not funny. The 2nd album had some decent songs, but any album after that has been such a joke it's not funny.

You may exit the thread now and pull your head out of your ass.

first of all please explain this to me? are you confusing me with someone else?

secondly, the reason i said this is ironic is because your whole point about bashing people for reading harry potter is because "they are too old for it," then you come here and say it's ok for you to do something that you are, as you admit, "too old for"

Huh? I know I'm not too old for this music...the whole "irony" of my thread is that I've gotten comments from 20-somethings to the effect of "What? You listen to Manson? You've actually heard of him?"

Nevermind...the irony of the irony is...ironic.

Yeah I'm the one who has his head up his ass. Keep fighting the power!

Additionally I never said you DIDN't buy their albums. I said it was IRONIC that you did and you bash homosexuals.

Heres a dime..you know what to do with it.
