Honestly, the best thing you can do is to start posting normally. People will recognize you are new by your post count, and will welcome you to the forums. Announcing your presence will not get the same effect.

The forum and the people it attracts have somewhat changed I think from the time I initially registered. I did the same thing with a "here I am, the centre of the universe" posting and the responses I received if I recall were quite welcoming.

The quality of the threads seemed to have gone downhill. And the level of activity in ATOT has significantly went down hill. Before I'd have to keep refreshing and go digginf for posts that I replied to over several pages over the course of 10-15min. Now I go to ATOT and the next day I go back, the same thread is still on either page one or page two.

hehe, probably not the best forums in AT to get started with, might I suggest hitting the DC or one of the more "helpful" parts of the forums to get your feet wet.
