Really? Even though it's a system right from the store it's still good?
Cuz I heard it's better to buy the parts and put it together.

DaMaster,

Normally, rigs shipped from large and small OEM companies cost a bit more than systems built by an individual, cause your paying for their warrenty and tech support!

PS Your system is very good!

Man, this place rocks!

Although my friend (that rich bastard! :) )

Has a P4 1.5GHz

Now that's crazy, I wonder if it' possiable to get a new case for my comp, do any of you have ICQ?

EDIT: InsaneMorphious(SP?), what I meant was, if you biuld ur own comp, will it not crash as much as OEM companies computer's?

thats alot in my opinion but i dont really know the system maybe you got good software and a lot of extra hardware... but for around that same moey or even a grand less you can get a top of the line p4 dell system full loaded... but i dont know that much about you parts so again it still could be a good deal... also your flat screen monitor probably cost alot thus putting the total system price very high... again check the other computer manufacters such as dell ibm go to the web sits you should get a good idea of what i am talking about.... just a quick question i am in canada too and just wondering where did you get the system futureshop????? again check around you are sure to get a faster system for cheaper but it may not be as loaded

I got it in Computer City.
They have a HP P4. Personally, I wouldn't go near a P4, because it is still quite buggy, maybe 4 to 5 months, I'd LOOK at a P4, but untill then, I'm happy with this.
You see another thing is, Computer City has a refund even on comps and I'm thinking of refunding my comp and just buying parts because it is real hard to upgrade this computer. I don't know what's your opinion? Should I go and buy parts? Also, if I choose to go the builfing way, I think it's cheaper, but the bad part is, if anything happens, how do I have to turn to?

EDIT: I just checked the Dell.ca comps, they have some good deals but again, I dont know i I wanna go near a P4.

the dell systems give a 30 day refund i think but pritty sure... ok maybe dont go for p4 but you could get the same system you have for cheaper i am sure but if you are happy with the syetm keep it it is fully loaded i think... the dells allow upgrades easer i think i have seen the sony system and thay seem too small and i dont think you can upgrade very much but the specs you have are good and will last for a long time with out un upgrade.,..

Actually, you probably saw the 833MHz, it's alot smaller then mine, but still, my sony has 3 PCI slots and 1 AGP, 2 bays which are already taken, damnit!
Now I want to buy the parts and build one.

EDIT: Do you live in Toronto?

Well, here is another reason not to go P4, mainly because it is an incomplete CPU in terms of engineering. It was rushed to market by Intel way before even finished. Athlon 900s as well as P3s are bettering it in tests! And, yeah I know the article is a little biased and written by a MAC user, as well.

I've never read that article before, my friend has a P4, I've seen how
buggy it is.

EDIT: Can anyone tell me if this is right? I have 3 IE windows running, ICQ, Explorer, and systry, and my resources are 66%

they took that stuff out to make the P4 run more MHz. those were obviously parts that were slow. those parts are the reason a p3 can only run 1GHz and a p4 is starting at 1.5 and will probably go higher on the .18 micron.

sony systems are really expensive. so is that GHz cpu. GHz cpu isn't very much faster than a 933 or 866 because it has to wait for the hard drive and ram anyway. lots of hard drive and ram on that system, i assume you want to do video editing or something, thats cool. anyway, it cost $4 grand canadian (like $2500 US?) and then you stuck a GF2 Ultra in it? wow. oh, how big is that monitor? mine is a 19" flat screen sony and was $450US with the system.

end deal: you can probably do it cheaper if you build it assuming you can get the software you want at the right price. or you can look around at dell and gateway for similar systems. if you do return it, i suggest not getting a GHz, you pay way too much for it, very poor bang for the buck ratio.
