Ugh...just saw this on the news. A lady from Chicago moved to New York City, and started splurging on a whole bunch of expensive stuff. $500 on a Gucci purse; $1800 on a personal trainer, etc. etc. All that compulsive buying caught up with her and she was $20,000 in debt. So she created a website asking people to contribute to her "cause." She actually received $13000 and is now debt-free. In the interview, she admit that there are people who deserve money more than she does...which annoys the hell out of me because she went into this knowing full well she's full of crap. I really don't understand how people can do this.

She started that website well over a year ago. She paid off her CC debt and has now written a book about the whole clusterfvck.
She is way better off now than she was just 18 months ago.

That's just not true. There are plenty of malnourished children in the US, but not for lack of food. Same applies to adults.

My problem is with her mostly for thinking people should give her money to solve a problem she created in the first place. Last time I read, the earth revolves around the sun

I'm much more likely to donate it to the "Lets get laid" fund and buy some shiney trinket jewelery off eBay for $5 shipped.

You mean "Cute dumbasses who spend too much." If I remember correctly, she didn't show her face on the web site. There're others like her though... Giveboobs.com or something....

Why is she the bad person? Shes a genius for even thinking up the idea and having some dimwits pay her way out of debt. Good for her.
