I have a huge ass 57" Toshiba HDTV and I want to hook my PC up to it. I don't need it to be the highest quality picture, I don't play games. I play poker for a living, mostly online, and want to be able to chill in my recliner and play on the TV. My only stipulation is that I need a resolution of 1280x1024 or something close.
I have a self built PC, Athlon 1800, Soyo Dragon Ultra, 512 ram, couple huge HDs, Hauppauge 250 PVR card. I have a crummy Geforce MX440 Video card but am thinking of getting a Radeon 9600 and hooking it up using the DVI. My TV has a DVI HDCP in and the 9600 I got says it is HDCP ready. So I just want to know if anyone else has tried this with a large 1080i HDTV and if it works. Do I have to use Powerstrip or something like that to obtain a decent resolution? In the past when I connected with S Video the best I could get was 800x600 which is nowhere near enough for me to play 2 tables at once, not to mention the picture was awful.
Should I change my plans and get a better video card or will the Sapphire 9600 do? Most of you probably know a lot more about this than me, and any help would be appreciated. And if you have any Texas Hold'em questions I will answer them in return.
