Ever notice how French people almost always suggest that they are French whether it's important to know that they're French or not?

Oh lala, next time just ask like a normal person and maybe I won't have help desk deliberately move it WITHOUT the power and vga cables. Moran.

Do you personally know anyone from France?

Although I'm not from France myself, I work in a very multi-cultural environment and there happens to be several people from France that work there, and none of them has done such a thing. Actually, they were all quite nice and respectful.

Ever notice how people love to bash the French? As if it's important to know they don't like French people or not. That one, I've definitely noticed with Canadians and Americans alike. I've never heard anyone from Europe or elsewhere act that way though.

I'm not bashing them at all, in fact I love the French. I just think it's a very peculiar behavior and it happens often enough that it irks me sometimes. This happens when it is their first time in communication as if they have no other way to introduce themselves.

Well, Canadians have more reason to considering that one province keeps wanting to 'secede'. And it's an anglophone versus francophone culture in some parts.

Personally, I'm trying to build my French up to a conversational level. Studied it in elementary school, so may as well build on that, and speak a third language.

All of the French people I've come to know are actually pretty cool and rather intelligent. None of them bring up the fact that they are French without being asked. I once met a douche who I thought was French but was in fact Italian. Just goes to show that generalizations don't get you very far.

The only time a French-speaking person has come right out and told me his nationality without my asking (he was actually a French-speaking Belgian) was to let me know why he was having some trouble coming up with certain English words. He was very courteous and funny as well. He smelled bad though.

The entire world bashes the French. I'm not joking or kidding, that is just the way the way things are. I work for a very diverse company and deal with many people around the globe.

I have noticed this many times. 2/3 of the French people I have ever met, were really cool guys. The other one was nice, but could be a bit uppity -- probably a better ratio than I have experienced with Americans....
