How many 3rd-party "Gaming Utilities" are you running in the background? Mobo / RGB / fan-control utilities too?

Try, if you feel like doing another re-format (maybe try another drive, temporarily), doing another fresh install, and this time, DONT install any of those utilities. DO install the VCRT AIO pack that @Arkaign posted.

Then see what happens.

I'm unconvinced that this still isn't a software issue with the install.

Are you overclocking at all? (Most notably the GPU?)

I dunno Larry he has to be doing something very wrong to still have problems after FOUR reformats. Typically reformats should be a last resort after you have determined it's not HW related and can't seem to pinpoint the software issue.

According to the info he provided, he is currently running a 1200 watt PSU (Corsair HX1200) and a Corsair Hydro H110 cooler. With an X370 Pro board and R7 1800x, I just can't imagine someone buying hardware like that and not having the intention to overclock it. He also didn't mention what the prior PSU was, only that he changed it 5-6 days ago.

Perhaps a more appropriate question to ask OP would be "Were you overclocking the machine at the time this malfunction occurred?".

I just can't help but get the feeling that this is the end result of an overclocked system that was just pushed too far.

I'd start with resetting BIOS settings, removing any overcloking and reinstalling Windows from scratch and not installing anything other than fresh GPU drivers and checking that your temps are OK using HWiNFO64.

If it still crashes, some of your components are faulty: either RAM, GPU, CPU, or PSU or motherboard (from most likely to least likely).

Also,

Run Memtest86 for an hour
Run OCCT Perestroika
Run FurMark
