Thanks! I like the Shirane picture the best of those. I was in a huge hurry but I snapped the stairs in there to get a good perspecitve. Came out very nicely

I have much better pictures to post but
1) I have to go return something
2) My computer here is too slow to weed through them all
3) I will have WAY better pics come next week when I visit Shikoku and then Kyoto

I will post a few more tonight though so keep an eye out!

oh sh!t, my bad. Yeah, good call. I haven't had anything TOO exotic yet...though, I did have this raw egg thing that was pretty sweet.

I will take pics of that this weekend, probably many sushi boat trips.

Also, have you guys seen the cars that are here?! Holy fvcking hell! Every 2 blocks there's a Ferrari, Masserati, Benz (expensive ones), Alpha Romeros, etc. I haven't been able to take any pics of them really, just one of an Opel driving by.

The cars here are also much better looking than those in the states. We rented a Matrix like car with 8 seats and was really cool looking. Every wagon is sleek and doesn't have that "soccer mom" look to them at all.

Yay!

Too bad everyone smokes and I've already got lung cancer by this point

Thanks! I'll send you some kickass pics when I get back.

I looked for your camera equipment, but alas I didn't find anything. I didn't really see any camera stores though so I'll keep looking

I always say according to my experience or from my observations. These are facts to me because I've seen them and lived them.

And you are the one that keeps assuming these things. You are generalizing by saying Koreans are all plasticked up. Now aren't you being a hypocrite? I was in Korea 10 years ago before all this stuff was going on so from my experience there, I can still tell you they look pretty good. My wife has never had plastic surgery. None of the Korean girls in my HS had plastic surgery at the time (don't know about now) and there were many pretty ones. I went to Japanese school and there weren't too many pretty girls there. I taught in 4 Japanese JHSs and from my estimate the pretty girl ratio was like 5%. Granted this was before school girls started going crazy over there and making themselve look like anime characters with their bright orange hair.

As for you, since when does marrying a Japanese woman make you the expert? What is your background? I've given you mine. Put up or shut up.

I did read, now re-read and tell me how these are opinions you have stated, but that's besides the point you will go on and on about how at 5 years old you knew what a woman was like inherently.

10 years ago the surgery was going on, the makeup was going on...it's now popular worldwide so the secret is out of the bag. Plastic surgery in Korea has been available a LONG time.

Also you seem to equate beauty with what someone is wearing...so be it, but I equate beauty by what they look like when not wearing anything at all.

Oh jesus so now you are saying for living a few years in Japan and having a Japanese 'household' makes you a Japanese expert? So all americans are american experts right? You are a 'gaijin' despite what the blood is in your body....it's like one of the cuban kids here who claim their parents were idiots to leave that country and what not.

I am not an expert on Japan, I didn't claim to be. I claimed to know my how your statement on a Japanese woman all being submissive was way off. Basically a racist comment/stereotype if you will. I also claimed to say how you are exaggerating just how much 'adult' time you had dating in Japan. Sounds to me you got lucky and married the first that let you.

As far as me describing what makes me an expert here or there would be idiotic, but it's sure not going to be only based on a huge general blanket like I went to college for nearly 9 years I know all about every degree there or since I spent some time in a jail, I know what it's like to be in a maximum security hardcore penitentary.

With women I know a lot. I started young, lived with 4 more than a year each. Dated a number I couldn't even figure out nor know their name/race...hell one I lived with I can't remember her last name it just wasn't important at the time. Slept with an even larger amount that was just that, we may have had a great night before that, and a nice morning/day after but it was just in passing.

A woman is basically a woman. She may act one way in public, but once alone they all surprisingly boil down to the same things in various languages. Coming from South Florida, we have a lot of foreign tourists and at one time I helped make their vacations 'better'. :)

That'd make you 29 when you left, you dated one girl for 4 years, now that leaves you at 25....I don't know why you call it a Japanese household either, that's in the third person. Now you are also married and also didn't live there fully, as a matter of fact by your own wording it was probably sporadic esp since you say you grew up in NYC. I'd say that give you about 2-3 years of single dating....hardly enough to know any 'cultures' women and those would be all in a young demographic..

You discussion of korean women also is failing to recognize that they are very frequently very made up and most have plastic surgery

Funny how you claim Doggiedog to be assuming too much while you do the same.

my statements were made as assumptions, I didn't say I know that since you did this and this, you must be that and that.

I broke out the timeline and stated things in terms of 'about' and 'probably'...big difference from 'exactly' and 'always'. Very frequently is not an assumption about the women in Korea, most should have been many though.

The is the reason why I used "Here we go again" with you Alkemyst is because I knew I would have to rebutt everything you say because you can't read and you assume way too much.

If you recall, I'm the guy that OWNED you in the SUV thread a few months back.

I knew when you started quoting stuff you would start assuming things, back tracking, self-contradicting and being hypocritical.

Even Dacalo had to point it out to you.

Exactly where did I say Japanese girls are submissive? Hmm? I said Japanese girls are less argumentative and materialistic than Korean and Chinese. You are the one that brought submissive into the discussion. Again, saying less argumentative could be like saying who's skinnier Starr Jones or Rosie O'Donnell. Materialistic? I'm sure in my own mind but you can decide for yourself.

Anyway, you still haven't provided us with what makes YOU the expert. I never said I was the expert I was stating my opinion from my own experience on the topic which I would argue is much greater than most of the people here.

I would also appreciate it if you didn't directly assume things about my wife. I gave you the courtesy of not assuming things about your own.

The other stuff? I won't bother addressing it because you are starting to make sh!t up again like me equating beauty with what someone is wearing.

Anyway...MAME nice pics. Keep them coming! I love that pic of Kusatsu. I think I may have been to that onsen once. It looks very familiar.

How did you OWN me in that thread, you keep bringing that up, but all you did *again* was argue how everyone needs an SUV because wagons are all POS and it snowed 4" in NYC. Again I hate to tell you this but just because you have experienced something or have a need for it doesn't justify it across the board. I think it's funny you really believe your ULEA SUV is better for the environment though than most cars. Emissions is not the real issue with them, but with a pea-sized brain that little ULEA sticker probably makes your head glow. You have no grasp on reality nor chemistry, biology, or physics. Let me guess next you will say that you grew up on and off and a Chemist's Household, spending time in the lab growing up and coming back there time to time.

And where was I self-contradicting or hypocritical except for effect anywhere.

Your desire is to attempt to dispute me and you really think you have what it takes....problem is you are attacking me instead of the issue at hand. Don't worry it's typical just like you.

awesome....thanks for the pics. I always like to see pictures of places I haven't been (and hope to be sometime).

I'm sure some peopl have seen this site, but this guy's photoblog of his experience as an American living in Japan is pretty much unparalleled. His pics are good enough (EOS 10D and whatnot) that he's acutally getting paid (off and on) to take them now.

Hey MAME, do they have any japanese baseball jerseys? If they aren't too expensive I'd like one (esp a throwback hideki matsui jersey). Thanks

Look I can still see the little gerbil up there waving. Does PETA know about your *fetish*?

I figured if I didn't write anything you'd understand since you can't read but boy you've got some imagination.
